Community rules

Last updated 20 October 2026

These apply to comments and messages on our TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and newsletter. They're here so everyone can share their experience without being dismissed.

  1. Believe people

No one has to prove their symptoms are real here. Disagree with ideas, not with someone's experience.

  2. No diagnosing

Please don't tell anyone they have, or don't have, a condition. Point them to tracking and a clinician instead.

  3. No medical instructions

Share what happened to you, but don't tell others to start, stop or change a medicine, dose or treatment.

  4. No selling

No promotion of products, coaching, tests or supplements, including in replies and DMs.

  5. Look after each other

Don't describe methods of self-harm. If someone seems unsafe, share the crisis support page.

Comments that break these rules may be hidden or removed, and repeated breaches may lead to a block. We read messages, but we can't assess symptoms or give individual advice.

If you need help now

If your life is at risk right now, or you don't feel you can keep yourself safe, call 999 or go to A&E. For urgent help that isn't an emergency, use NHS 111 online or call 111 and select the mental health option. You can call Samaritans free, day or night, on 116 123. If you'd rather text, text SHOUT to 85258. More crisis support
